Sleep expert hired in 2014 bids adieu to Apple

Even as Apple scoops up Beddit, a sleep tracking hardware/software company, Roy J.E.M. Raymann, a sleep scientist Apple hired back in 2014, left the company, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He worked on the Apple’s HealthKit, ResearchKit and the iPhone’s Bedtime alarm. Prior to working at Apple, Raymann was a senior scientist at Philips Research who founded the Philips Sleep Experience Laboratory, a non-clinical sleep research lab.

He has moved to SleepScore Labs, a joint venture between ResMed, Dr. Oz Media, and Pegasus Capital Advisors, according to Mobile Health News. He will serve as vice president of Sleep Science and Scientific Affairs.Whether Raymman left Apple because of the Beddit purchase or whether the two events are unrelated is unknown.
