What is your cell phone worth? We all know how much we paid for our phones, but what is it worth today? Like cars, cell phones depreciate as soon as you buy them.
Depreciation data from tech-buying site Decluttr.com shows that Apple’s iPhone models depreciate at a slower rate than the rest of the competition. The Samsung Galaxy S7 lost 50% of its value after just one month on the market. In comparison, the iPhone 7 only lost 34% in the same time period
Newer iPhone models hold their value better as each version is released. The HTC One M9 lost 65% in value in just the first month of being released, making it the biggest depreciator. In fact, HTC performed the worst out of all brands overall in the Decluttr study.
