You can watch the premiere episode of ‘Castle Rock’ free in the Apple TV app for a limited time

Apple is offering the premiere episode of Hulu’s Castle Rock free on the Apple TV app. It’ll be available to iPhone, iPad and Apple TV users in the U.S. later today and will be there exclusively for two weeks.

Apple tells engadget that this is the first time it’s debuted a new series before any paywalls. However, the tech giant has offered free episodes for network shows before.

Castle Rock is psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse that plays out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. It intertwines characters and events from several of the author’s works.

The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT, and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock.
