Apple may be expanding its digital ad business into ground covered more by Facebook and Google, according to The Wall Street Journal, quoting unnamed “people familiar with the matter.”

The tech giant has reportedly met with companies including Snap and Pinterest about taking part in a network distributing ads across apps, in a revenue-share arrangement that would vary by app. As noted by Seeking Alpha, Apple already has a small business ($1 billion revenue last year) selling promo ads for search terms in the App Store.
