What iPhone uncertainty? Apple asks suppliers for 90 million iPhone 14 units

A new report from DigiTimes (a subscription is required to read the article) says that “uncertainty remains about demand for the new models between the end of the fourth quarter and the beginning of first-quarter 2023.” However, a Bloomberg article says this isn’t the case.

The article says the tech giant has asked suppliers to make at least 90 million users, believing that its customers are relatively unaffected by the economic slowdown.

That 90 million figure means that Apple expects to sell as many (or more) iPhone 14 models as its did iPhone 13 models last year. Bloomberg says that he Cupertino, California-based company still expects to assemble roughly 220 million iPhones in total for 2022, also about level with last year,
