Week of Apple Watch Stands: WATCHme on Kickstarter

This week I’m looking at some Apple Watch charging stands; this started yesterday with the Griffin WatchStand and I’ll be reviewing the new Nomad Watch Stand tomorrow. Today I thought it would be fun to take a trip to Kickstarter, where a young French designer is looking for funding for a humorous and completely different take on the Watch charging stand: WATCHme

The chubby little WATCHme is the brainchild of Vivien Muller, and it’s unlike any other Watch charging stand I’ve seen. It looks like a short and stout little monster with a large “eye” where the disk of the Apple Watch charger sits. Pop your Watch onto the WATCHme, and it gets even more fun. If WATCHme reaches a stretch goal, Muller plans to hire a developer to create an app with a mischievous little eye that will show up on the Watch face.

Available in yellow, black, and white models with interchangeable parts, WATCHme can also be equipped with black decals that add a big handlebar mustache and either a bow or regular tie. The WATCHme campaign has 36 days and about $20,000 to go, so it’s not a slam-dunk that it make it to manufacture. With your support of the campaign, the decidedly different Apple Watch Stand could be a reality.
