We don’t need both the MacBook Air and the MacBook

The new MacBook Air is pretty neat, soo why does Apple even need the MacBook line? Just make a less expensive (under $1,000), 11-inch Air.

Right now Apple’s laptop line-up makes no sense. There’s the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro, the 12-inch MacBook, and the 13-inch MacBook Air. The last two are both consumer models. Why two consumer models? A streamlined laptop line-up of MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs makes more sense.

Then there’s the iPad Pro. Apple specifically touted it as the “best selling computer of all time,” so it seems like it’s the “laptop” the company really wants you to buy.

Speaking of which, the MacBook Air’s FaceTime camera is only 720p compared to 1080p on the iPad Pro. Interesting.
