Vintage Apples: Unboxing and Powering Up a 2004 12-inch PowerBook G4

Thanks to the generosity of Dwight and Franklin Shih of Colorado, I had the fun yesterday of unboxing and booting up a working 2004 12-inch PowerBook G4. In this Vintage Apples video, you get to see just how fast one of these aluminum beasts was when running Mac OS X Panther — frankly, it was surprising just how speedy the 13-year-old laptop actually was!

From time to time as we get our hands on “mature equipment” we’ll make other Vintage Apple videos for your enjoyment. If you have any questions about this PowerBook, leave them in the comments section below and I’ll be sure to answer them to the best of my ability.

Also, if you have a working vintage Mac or other Apple product that you’d be willing to donate to Apple World Today, we’d love to have it “star” in a future Vintage Apples video. I already have a Newton MessagePad 2100 that I’m going to try to get running again for an upcoming video, so stay tuned.
