United MileagePlus rewards program now has its own Apple Store

Say what you want about United Airlines, which has become the whipping boy of the airline industry since a recent incident where a passenger was injured while being forcibly removed from an overbooked flight. The airline’s MileagePlus rewards program has been popular for quite some time, and a lot of frequent business fliers have a lot of miles built up that they can exchange for flights, upgrades and merchandise. That program now includes an “Apple Store” where those miles can be redeemed for Apple gear.

It’s not just Apple Watches, iPhones and iPads — the entire Mac lineup, AirPods, and a lot of Apple accessories are on that site as well (no third party products, including Beats headphones). A fully-loaded Mac Pro takes 533,200 miles to “purchase”, so if someone could lend me about 500,000 miles…
