UAG’s Scout is my favorite iPad Pro case ever

The newest iPad Pro case from Urban Armor Gear (UAG) is the Scout Series, a rugged case that offers Apple Smart Keyboard Folio compatibility. In fact, it requires the use of the Folio.

That may sound like a drawback, but it’s not. The Scout is perhaps the best case for the iPad Pro ever made, at least if you’re a fan of the Smart Keyboard Folio, as I am.

The UAG case secures both the device and accessory without interfering with the Folio’s multiple viewing/typing positions — an impressive accomplishment in itself. It boasts an impact resistant core that’s relatively lightweight.

Adding to its security features is the Scout’s ruggedized grip that helps prevent it from slipping out of your hand. When you’re not using your iPad Pro, you can fold the case to securely hold the tablet/Folio combo and maintain 360-degree protection. And Scout provides easy access to all the buttons on ports on the Apple tablet.

To use the UAG case, first insert the Smart Folio into it and push down on the corners to firmly secure the keyboard. Next you insert the iPad Pro and, again, push down on the corners to get it nice and tight.

I did find it a little difficult to wedge my 12.9-inch iPad Pro into the Scout. Which means you’re not going to want to insert and remove the Apple tablet on a regular basis.

There’s little reason to. The case offers a lot of protection for its (relatively) slim, lightweight design. It provides military drop-test standards. Finally — drum roll, please! -o- the Scout’s clip can hold an Apple Pencil in place when it’s charging/pairing with your iPhone Pro.

The Scout Series is available in black. It costs $49.95 for the 11-inch iPad Pro model and $59.99 for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro version.
