UAG Civilian is a lightweight, protective case for the iPhone

Urban Armor Gear has rolled out a new series of phone cases “for those who choose to live beyond the known and venture into the unknown.” The $49.95 Civilian Series — available in black, olive drab, and slate — are compatible with the 2019 iPhone line-up.

There’s nothing revolutionary about the cases, but they’re sleek and protective thanks to a multi-layer, screen surround construction engineered to disperse energy if you drop or bang your expensive smartphone. The folks at UAG say the case meets military drop-test standards (MIL STD 810G 516.6).

The Civilian — which is surprisingly lightweight — sports tactile buttons and easy access to the iPhone touchscreen and ports. They work just fine with Apple Pay and are wireless charging compatible.
