TP-Link, a provider of networking and smart home products, has unveiled a new suite of TP- Link Kasa smart home products at this week’s (virtual) Consumer Electronics Show. They’ll be released throughout the year; pricing hasn’t been announced.
Leading the charge is a CES 2021 Innovation Awards Honoree: the Motion-Activated Kasa Smart Dimmer Switch (KS220M). This next-generation dimmer features Smart Motion Detection that automatically turn lights off at a set time based on motion. It also comes with a built-in Ambient Light Sensor so you don’t have to worry about lights turning on automatically during the daytime. The Fade In and Out feature fades the lights off at night for a smooth transition to bedtime, and fades them on again in the morning when it’s time to wake up.
The Kasa Smart WiFi Light Switch with 3-Way Dimmer Kit is a new WiFi switch that includes 3-way capabilities that let you convert your traditional 3-way lighting to smart wireless WiFi lights. It boasts Smart Dimming that automatically adjust the brightness of your lights to set the mood.
The Fade In and Out feature lowers the lights at bedtime and turns them up again in the morning when it’s time to start the day. What’s more, Voice Control enables you to use voice commands to control your connected lights with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Samsung SmartThings.
The Kasa Smart Doorbell (KD110) with 1080p Full HD video. It comes with a Person Detection feature that lets you distinguish a person from other objects. It also includes Secure Local and Cloud Storage so you can save footage continuously on a microSD card (up to 128 GB) or subscribe to a Kasa Care plan for 30-day cloud storage.
Additionally, the Kasa Smart Doorbell boasts IP64 weatherproofing. You can also choose from a variety of Indoor Chimes, so you’re immediately alerted when someone is at the door.
The Kasa Spot Pan Tilt with 24/7 Recording boasts 2K HD Video with 4 MP high resolution. With the Starlight Night Vision feature, you can capture colorful videos even in low-light environments with a highly sensitive starlight sensor. The Motion Tracking feature detects a subject and then tracks and follows it to keep it in within view.
Additionally, with Patrol Mode, you can set multiple distinct viewpoints and program your camera to keep an eye on each region at selected intervals. Finally, secure local storage lets you save footage continuously on a microSD card (up to 256 GB). You can also subscribe to a Kasa Care plan for cloud storage.
The Kasa Cam Outdoor with 24/7 Recording provides 2K HD Video in 4 MP high resolution. With Full Color Night Vision, you can see full-color videos with an integrated spotlight.
In addition, IP65 weatherproofing ensures your camera stays protected against rain and dust. Finally, secure local storage lets you save footage continuously on a microSD card (up to 256 GB). You can also subscribe to a Kasa Care plan for cloud storage.
The Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug (single port) (KP401) features long Wi-Fi range with a built-in power amplifier. You can set your smart plug to turn plugged-in devices on and off automatically while you’re home or away. And the Control from Anywhere feature allows you to remotely control your smart plug using the Kasa Smart app via your phone or tablet. What’s more, the IP64 weatherproofing rating ensures your smart outdoor plug will be protected against the elements.
