Todoist gets a major overhaul, new features

I’ve been using and loving Todoist for nearly a year now. The project manager for Mac and iOS (free with optional pro subscription) fits perfectly with how I like to keep track of things. Today, the company has released a re-branding complete with a new logo and updated versions of its Mac and browser-based apps with a new look and additional features, some of which I’ve been eager to have. Here’s what’s new and exciting about Todoist.

The first thing you’ll notice is the spiffy new logo. The stylized “TD” is gone, replaced with something that’s more in line with the contemporary aesthetic. I was told that the new logo was a year in the making. The re-branding also offers new typography throughout the web app and Mac app. It’s tidy and more legible, which his nice when you’re talking about an app you’ll stare at for much of the day.

The feature I’m most excited about is support of natural language in the date parser, hooray! Now you can enter something like, “Committee meeting every other Tuesday starting on October 6.” Yes! Those who’ve been using the Todoist iOS app will recognize this functionality. Now it’s finally come to the Mac.

Additionally, the new Todoist sports a “Quick Find” search feature that drops down a list of tasks, projects, labels, and filters as you type. I’m all for a feature that helps me find what I need faster.

Finally, the updated Mac app sports more spacious rows, theming options and more. As I said, this is a great app that I use every day. Features like this only make it better.
