Tim Cook to receive award for Apple’s 40 years of investment in Ireland

Apple CEO Tim Cook will receive an award in Dublin on Jan. 20 for 40 years of Apple’s investment in Ireland, reports Bloomberg

Despite ongoing battles over tax issues, Apple topped the Irish Times list of the 1,000 biggest companies in Ireland. The report shows that Apple is far and away Ireland’s largest company with sales of €119 billion. The tech giant continues to dominate the listings due to the fact that it puts all its sales outside of the U.S. through Ireland.

Because its Ireland operation acts as an international hub, Apple recorded sales through it of approximately $133.67 billion in 2019. The company’s European headquarters are located in Cork, and last year it expanded the campus with a new building that provides space for an additional 1,400 employees.
