Tim Cook: Mac sales should increase significantly thanks to new M3 machines.

When Apple announced the financial results for its fiscal 2023 fourth quarter that ended September 30 the bad news was that Mac revenue was US$7.61 billion, year-on-year from $11.5 billion.

However, in a conference all with analysts and investors CEO Tim Cook thinks that’s about to change.

“I think the Mac is going to have a significantly better quarter in the December quarter,” said Cook. “We’ve got the M3, we’ve got the new products, and we don’t have the compare phenomenon on a year-over-year basis.”

A 24-inch iMac with an M3 chip and MacBook Pros with M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max processors were announced Monday. Shipments should begin arriving next week — except for M3 Max machines, which won’t arrive until later this month.
