Tim Cook gets as 93% approval rating from Apple employees

An anonymous poll of Apple employees earns CEO Tim Cook a 93% approval rating, earning him the No. 53 ranking among U.S. companies surveyed for Glassdoor’s annual Employees’ Choice Awards. Glassdoor is a jobs and recruiting site.

Cook had been steadily climbing in the rankings until this year. In 2013, he placed 18th; in 2014, 18th; and in 2015, 10th. Last year he came in the eighth position. Despite plummeting 45 places, his approval rating was only down 3% from last year.

The top 10 Highest Rated CEOs in 2017 in the U.S. are, per Glassdoor: Benno Dorer of the Clorox Company (99% approval rating), Jim Kavanaugh of World Wide Technology (99% approval rating), Michael Mahoney of Boston Scientific (99% approval rating), Craig Thompson of Memorial Sloan Kettering (99% approval rating), Martin Rankin of Fast Enterprises (99% approval rating), Jen-Hsun Huang of Nvidia (99% approval rating), Bob Bechek of Bain & Company (98% approval rating), Brian Halligan of HubSpot (98% approval rating), and Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook (98% approval rating).

Glassdoor’s rankings are based on anonymized ratings from company employees. The company takes into account the “quality, quantity and consistency” of those reviews.
