There may be no special media event for upcoming iPad Pro, Mac updates

Upcoming iPad Pros and iPad Airs could be offered with matte screens for the first time.

Apple may not hold a special media event for upcoming iPad Pro and Mac updates, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says in his latest Power On newsletter. Instead, the products are likely to be announced via press releases, he adds.

Media event or not, new iPad Pros and Macs are expected to be announced next month. The new iPad Pros are rumored to pack a M2 processor and perhaps be equipped with MagSafe charging. Other rumors about the 2022 iPad Pro:

° It will have a glass back for wireless charging.

° It will get a notch akin to that of the iPhone 13 models.

° It will sport an M2 processor.

° It will have a bigger battery.

° It will have an OLED display.

° Apple will provide more 5G bands.

The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros are expected to be updated with M2 and M2 Pro processors, but have no major design change. A Mac min with M2 and M2 Pro chips is also expected to arrive in October.
