Urban Armor Gear’s US$59.95 Civilian for MagSafet for the iPhone 15 series is a light, well-priced protective case for Apple’s smartphone.
I tested one with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. There’s nothing revolutionary about the case, but it’s sleek and protective thanks to a multi-layer, screen surround construction engineered to disperse energy if you drop or bang your expensive smartphone. The folks at UAG say the case meets military drop-test standards (MIL STD 810G 516.6).
The Civilian sports tactile buttons and easy access to the iPhone touchscreen and ports. It works just fine with Apple Pay and is MagSafe compatible.
The Civilian boasts a co-molded lightweight armor shell, combined with a hex cushion shock-absorbing soft core, making it lightweight yet durable. The raised protective screen surround ensures your device’s screen is shielded against impacts, adding an extra layer of defense. UAG also incorporated a traction grip for comfortable handling and to help prevent accidental drops.
There are less expensive, even lighter, and more durable cases, but the Civilian is a nice blend of protection and svelte design at a reasonable price. It’s available in bordeaux, black, olive drab, and mallard colors (I prefer the latter).
