The pleasantly alarming sounds of the Apple HomePod

If it weren’t for developers, bloggers wouldn’t have a lot to write about. Not only do we now have a really good idea that the iPhone 8 will have a bezel-less screen with a “notch” at the top for sensors, but we know what some of the alarm tones are going to sound like on the upcoming HomePod.

Developer Avery Magnotti published notes on how to go through the HomePod’s firmware based on the “accidental” prerelease build of audioOS (the operating system for the HomePod) that was recently leaked through Apple’s public update servers. Based on that, Magnotti made a “video” (there’s nothing to look at but a black screen) featuring a number of the beeps and tones that you’ll hear out of the HomePod as it notifies you of various things:

So there you go! Enjoy the beeps of the day!
