The latest rumors regarding upcoming iPhones, iPads, AirPods, etc.

With Apple expected to announce a special Sept. 12 event for new iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches, the rumor and analyst mill is abuzz with speculation.

In a note to clients — as noted by AppleInsider — analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has tweaked his predictions for the 2018 iPhone lineup, with the analyst now forecasting that the LCD 6.1-inch model will top 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED models in sales volume for the next three quarters.

He thinks the two new OLED iPhone models will be available in September. However, Kuo thinks the widely anticipated 6.1-inch lower-cost LCD iPhone model will be made available to consumers a bit later. But, contrary to some rumors, he doesn’t think any of the new models will add Apple Pencil support.

The analyst continues to maintain that the new 6.1-inch LCD and 6.5-inch OLED iPhone models will have single-SIM and dual-SIM versions. However, it doesn’t appear that the dual-SIM models will be available in the U.S., at least for now.

Meanwhile, in a note to clients — as seen by MacRumors — Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis — thinks all 2019 (not the upcoming 2018) iPhones will lack 3D Touch to be replaced by FaceID (a la the iPhone X). He also foresees second generation AirPods (perhaps more water resistant) and a lower priced HomePod to roll out next year, but not this year.
