Oberthur Technologies, which specializes in secure payment technologies, has been selected by JCB — is a credit card company based in Tokyo, Japan — for the launch of Apple Pay in Japan.
JCB will use an agnostic, scalable digitization and tokenization platform. This advanced platform: the JCB Token Platform (JTP), which was developed in collaboration with OT, leveraging its next generation digital payment enablement solution. It allows not only JCB, but also its issuing and processing partners to integrate with Apple Pay and offer real-time enrollment, provisioning and tokenization capabilities, according to Mehdi Elhaoussine, OT’s head of Digital Payments.
