The iPhone and Apple Watch are more popular than ever among teens

In a note to clients —as noted by Apple 3.0 — Piper Jeffrey analyst Michael Olson — Apple’s share of smartphone ownership increased for the sixth consecutive ”Taking Stock With Teens” survey.

Of approximately 6,000 respondents, 82% have an iPhone, up from 78% in fall of 2017. What’s more, 84% of teens anticipate their next phone will be an iPhone, up from 82% last fall.

The Apple Watch was the top smartwatch among teens, garnering 15%, with the Samsung Gear next on the list at 2%. About 20% of teens plan to purchase an Apple Watch in the next six months, up from 17% in the fall, according to Piper Jaffray.
