The iPad sees its highest global tablet market share in four years

In a conference call regarding Apple’s financial results for its fiscal 2017 third quarter that ended July 1, CEO Tim Cook touted the resurgence of the iPad. Apple tallied its highest global tablet market share in four years, according to research firm IDC.

Cook said that iPad sales up were 32% year-over-year in the U.S. education market, in which Apple sold over one million tablets. Plus iPad sales grew across all geographic segments, with strong double-digit growth in countries including the US, France, and Greater China..
