The Elite 7550 will entice potential cord cutters

If you’re like me, you’re awaiting the day when you can cut the cable or satellite cord entirely. I haven’t quite reached that day yet. However, a product like the $149 Elite 7550 from Winegard Company may help you get closer to that goal.

This one-pound antenna’s long-range performance delivers reception from more than 70 miles away and offers an impressive lineup of over-the-air options. An integrated LTE filter and embedded ultra-low noise amplifier with Winegard’s unique Clear Circuit Technology allows for the good to great reception as the antenna provides an ultra-low noise figure of 1 dB for less dropouts and pixilation. Additionally, the Elite 7550 is optimized for dual-band VHF/UHF reception designed for maximum signal capture.  

Made in America, it has high quality connectors and is a relatively easy to set thanks to the Flex Mounting System that provides angling options for optimal positioning in the attic or outside. Digital TV reception can often be improved just by changing the location of your current antenna by as little as a few inches. For example, moving it away from other objects or placing it higher or lower can often improve reception. Just move the antenna slowly since digital TV tuners need a little time to properly detect the signal. You need to rescan for available signals if you feel you’re missing channels.

The Elite 7550 comes with a power inverter, a USB connector and a 110V adapter making setup simple. No, I’m not quite ready to cut that cable/satellite cord entirely. But the Elite moves me a bit closer in that direction.
