Telstra fixes glitches that caused problems with Messages, FaceTime

Australian telecom Telstra has suffered a mass outage that has mass outage has seen customers experiencing widespread issues with Apple’s iMessage/Messages service, reports news.com.au. But the glitch has reportedly been fixed.

Starting early Wednesday morning (local time), customers in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane reported issues sending or receiving iMessages. Telstra has acknowledged the incident and said it’s fixed the issue.

“Earlier today some customers experienced a disruption to Apple iMessage and FaceTime services. We worked with Apple to resolve this issue,” a Telstra spokesman told news.com.au. “Services are now being progressively being restored. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused.”

Telstra is an Australian telecommunications and media company which builds and operates telecommunications networks and markets voice, mobile, internet access, pay television and other entertainment products and services. It’s Australia’s largest telecommunications company.
