Take Apple Pay out to the ballgame at these seven MLB ballparks

Los Angeles-based Appetize today announced that its Apple Pay-read point of sale system is being used throughout seven Major League Baseball parks. Apple fans at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA; Coors Field in Denver, CO; Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, CA; Fenway Park in Boston, MA; Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, MO; and Citi Field and Yankee Stadium in New York City can all use their iPhones, Touch ID-equipped iPads, and Apple Watches to pay both at concession terminals and in the seats when paying waitstaff equipped with iPad minis.

Since Apple Pay was first announced about two-and-a-half years ago, I’ve been hounding my local team — the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field — on social media for the ability to pay with the touchless payment system. At the beginning of the 2017 season, terminals were in place but lack of training on behalf of concessionaires made it impossible to use. As the season has progressed, more and more locations were up to speed on the use of Apple Pay.

If your Independence Day weekend plans include a trip to the ballpark in any of the cities listed above, tell us how your Apple Pay ballpark experience works out.
