Survey: Mac adoption is at 25% in small and medium-sized enterprises

JumpCloud has conducted research that includes responses from SME IT admins about the use of macOS in the workplace. (SME stands for small and medium-sized enterprises.) They report Mac adoption at 25%.

“Internally, JumpCloud reports Mac usage among its users 31.25%, and we expect it to continue increasing as that’s been the trend year over year,” says Tom Bridge, principal product manager for Apple Technologies at JumpCloud:

When asked what is the device breakdown of macOS, Windows, and Linux in your workplace, the SME IT admins said macOS has 25%, Linux 21%, and Windows 58%.

What’s more, JumpCloud’s research shows that 81.3% of SME IT Admins have used personal devices at work 34.2% have shared a work device with family or friends, suggesting small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) need to address BYOB [bring your own device] policies, and how to manage an increasingly diverse fleet makeup. Especially as 74% of IT admins think remote work makes following security practices harder.

JumpCloud provides a cloud directory platform. From one pane of glass, manage user identities and resource access, secure Mac, Windows, and Linux devices, and get a full view of their environment.
