Someone is attacking Apple shuttle buses

Someone is attaching Apple shuttle buses that carry employees to and from San Francisco to the company’s Cupertino headquarters, according to an internal Apple email thread viewed by Mashable. Apparently, “rubber rounds” — rubber or rubber-coated projectiles that can be shot from either standard firearms or dedicated riot guns — are being fired at the vehicles, sometimes breaking windows.

Apple emailed employees to alert them that an untold number of shuttles would be rerouted, adding 30 to 45 minutes to riders’ commute. Mashable obtained the email and has verified its authenticity.

“As always, the safety of our employees is our first priority. We’re working closely with law enforcement to investigate these incidents and we’ll notify you as soon as the coaches are able to return to the regular route,” the email reads in part. “Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
