Some questions I have following this week’s Apple Worldwide Developer Keynote

Apple’s Worldwide Developer Keynote this week offered lots of good news (well, except for that disappointing iPadOS 18 update), but I have some questions.

Question one: I noticed that the ability to generate custom images from people with the upcoming Image Playground app is limited to artistic renderings and nothing photo-realistic. Is this due to privacy/security/permissions concerns?.

Question two: Will Apple Intelligence will be able to make use of Time Machine backups in order to help with finding historical versions of data?

Question three: Why no talk of Shortcuts/AppleScript? There’s been no indication of better automation tech beyond Apple Intelligence. Maybe Apple should have left Shortcuts alone as an independent developer product.

I hope that you’ll consider becoming a patron of Apple World Today. Prices range from $2 a month to $10 a month. You can sign up here. Thanks in advance for your support.
