Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt now works with Apple’s Home app

Here’s a bit of good news for those who are trying to use iOS 10’s new Home app to create a Siri-controlled home. Lock and hardware manufacturer Schlage today released an update to its Schlage Sense app that allows the Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt lock to work with the Home app. iOS users get push notifications when their deadbolt is locked and unlocked, making it easier to keep an eye on home security.

The Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt will now let you “talk to unlock” when you’re within Bluetooth range of the lock, or users can tap the touchscreen numeric pad to enter a code if they’re outside without a key or iPhone.

Lock activity can be monitored if you want to know when the door has been locked or unlocked, and a built-in alarm senses door attacks.

The Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt is available at most “big box” hardware retailers as well as Amazon and the Apple Store for $229.00.
