Apple has introduced FineWoven cases for its iPhone 15 line-up as it no longer makers leather products to be eco-friendly. However, the cases have been almost universally panned (for example, see this Macworld article).
One semi-alternative to a leather case is Satechi‘s Vegan-Leather Magnetic Wallet Stand, a MagSafe-compatible wallet and stand. It quickly attaches to any MagSafe-compatible iPhone or iPhone case via a snap connection. So if you really want to be environmentally friendly, you’ll need a non-leather case to accompany the Wallet Stand (although it can be used with no case).
The Vegan-Leather Magnet Wallet Stand is designed to make it easy to carry credit cards, IDs, or cash and can hold up to four cards.
You can fold and unfold to access your cards without snapping the wallet off your phone. Another nice touch is that it’s NFC pass-through compatible for using “Tap to Pay”
The Vegan-Leather Magnetic Stand is also designed to function as a stand. It supports two viewing modes in portrait or landscape. Wallet hinges open out to any angle up to 160°.
Of course, these features would matter little if the Satechi product wasn’t durable. It looks and feels like a premium product. After using it for a week, its magnets seem strong so that the wallet/stand won’t detach from the iPhone unless you pull ‘em apart.
