Rumor: the Apple Vision Pro could be released on Friday, January 26

The VRdirect CEO says Apple is playing the long game with the Vision Pro.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman thinks there’s a chance the Apple Vision Pro will be released on Friday, January 26.

“The original iPad was released on a Saturday. Jan 26 is indeed the date floating around the last few days among people in China who claim to be connected to Apple,” he tweets. “Like I said, units will be ready by end of January with a retail launch by February. It’s imminent.

I’m sure if he means that Apple will announce the headset on January 26, then ship it within a week or two. Since the 26th is a Friday that seems very unlikely. And if Apple starts taking orders on the 26th, I’d expect some sort of media event — or at least a press release — earlier in the week — most likely Tuesday, Jan. 23.

The Vision Pro is Apple’s US$3,499 (and higher) Spatial Computer. It’s expected to only be available in limited quantities at first — and perhaps through all of 2024.
