Rumor: the AirPower is still alive (and coming this year)

We’ve heard this before, but a DigiTimes report says glass passivated package (GPP) bridge rectifier orders for Apple’s AirPower “continue to pour in.” Citing unnamed sources, the article says the wireless charger will be available later this year.

First previewed in September 2019, the AirPower will be able to charge a Qi-compatible iPhone, an Apple Watch, and a pair of AirPods (in a special wireless charging case) at the same time regardless of where they’re placed on the pad. AirPower hasn’t been priced yet, but guesses have it costing anywhere from $150 – $200.

Chances the rumor is true, according to the Sellers Research Group (that’s me): 80%. I’m going to be optimistic and predict (hope?) we’ll see the charger arrive before summer.
