Rumor: first ‘Apple Silicon’ Mac to debut in November (I expect a 12-inch MacBook)

Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says that Apple will announce its first “Apple Silicon” Mac (which aligns with the timeline I’ve previously predicted).

He says it will be a Mac laptop. I’m expecting it to be a revised 12-inch MacBook, as this could offer a (relatively) low cost venture into Apple’s new venture. However, it’s possible that it will be a 13-inch MacBook Pro or a 13-inch MacBook Air. Either way, I’m expecting Tim Cook and company to unveil it in yet another virtual online event.

Apple Silicon is, per Apple, “world-class custom silicon to deliver industry-leading performance and powerful new technologies.” It involves customized ARM technology, as well as Apple’s own System on a Chip.
