Rumor: Apple will unveil a new iPhone SE at the 2018 WWDC

Chinese website QQ  — as noted by Cult of Mac — claims Apple will unveil a new iPhone SE at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

The article says the iPhone SE 2 will have a bigger display (4.2 inches), an A10 processor that’s better equipped for iOS 12 (when it arrives), plus 2GB of RAM. QQ also claims the smartphone will come in 32GB and 128GB storage options. The rumor adds that it will retain Touch ID and a physical home button and forego FaceID.

Chances the rumor is true, according to the Sellers Research Group (that’s me): 50%. The specs sound about right, but I can’t imagine Apple unveiling a new iPhone at WWDC. Those announcements and products almost always arrive in the fall.
