Rumor: Apple will release its first ARM-based Mac next year (I think we’ll see at least two)

Apple will release at least one Mac with its own custom-designed ARM-based processor next year, reports Bloomberg.

The article says that the tech giant is working on three of its own Mac processors. They’re based on the A14 processor of the next iPhone. The first of these will be “much faster” than the processors in the smartphones and iPads, Bloomberg adds, quoting unnamed “people familiar with the matter.”

The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) thinks there’s a 100% chance the report is right. I think the first ARM Mac will be a revived 12-inch MacBook or a new MacBook Air that will debut in the spring. I also think we’ll an iMac with an Apple-made processor by fall.
