Rumor: All 2019 iPhones will have OLED screens

Apple is planning to use OLED screens for all its upcoming iPhone models, according to South Korea’s Electronic Times. At the moment, only the iPhone X sports an OLED display; the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have LCD screens. iPhone display makers tumbled on the report. Japan Display was down by about 21%, while Sharp dipped 4.3%.

OLED technology is used in high end smartphones. Supporters of the technology praise its high contrast/deep blacks and potential thickness and power consumption advantages

Chances this rumor is true, according to the Sellers Research Group (that’s me): 100%. It’s going to happen, folks.
