ROMOSS UPower is a solid charger at (if you look around) a very good price

The ROMOSS UPower 10000mAh Power Bank — which retails for $49.99 but can be obtained at Amazon for less — is a two-in-one hybrid power supply that comes in handy if you need a home or travel charger for just two gadgets.

With its “smart” dual USB output (5V/1A and 5V/2.1A), you can charge, for instance, an iPhone and an iPad simultaneously. I charged my iPhone 7s about four times and my wife’s iPad mini 1.4 times before having to recharge the power bank.

The UPower’s self-charging technology automatically adjusts the current and voltage. With its 5V 2.1A input, it can get fully charged in under seven hours. Four LED lights indicates battery level. The UPower enters dormant mode automatically after one minute when it’s not being used to save power. The unit can be recharged on its own as it has a foldable North-American plug.

The uPower’s built-in intelligent safety system boasts over-heat, over-charge, over-current, over-discharge and short-circuit protection. It’s alloy plastic shell is dust-proof and fire-retardant. At 4.4 x 2.4 x 1.2 inches and 12.6 ounces, it’s not truly svelte, but is small enough to hold in your hand and carry in a bag or purse.

While it combines the reliability of a wall charger and the convenience of a portable power bank, and includes one USB to micro-USB cable, a Lightning cable would have been nice. But if you can get one for $15.99, it’s a pretty good deal. However, my favorite charger is still the ChargeHub X5. It’s more expensive, but can accommodate up to five devices.
