Renesas Electronics taking over Apple supplier Dialog Semiconductor

It’s been announced that Apple supplier Dialog Semiconductor is being taken over by Renesas Electronics.

An agreement was reached between the companies today; Renesas will buy Dialog in an all-cash acquisition. The offer is valued at a total of 4.9 billion euros (approximately US$5.9 billion).

Dialog Semiconductor is an American founded UK-Domiciled manufacturer of semiconductor based system solutions. The company is headquartered in the United Kingdom. Renesas Electronics Corporation is a Japanese semiconductor manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo.
