Production of new iPads repeatedly postponed due to delays in mass production of camera lenses

Mass production of camera lenses for the upcoming iPads has been "repeatedly postponed," though the anticipated tablet updates will likely launch next month.

Mass production of camera lenses for the upcoming iPads has been “repeatedly postponed,” though the anticipated tablet updates will likely launch next month, according to DigiTimes (a subscription is required to read the article). That timeframe lines up with a prediction by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

One rumor says that Apple may offer a matte screen for the first time. Unlike a regular glossy display, a matte display comes with an anti-glare coating that helps minimize reflections on your screen. Since smooth surfaces such as glass or plastic reflect light evenly, they may have a harsh glare and interrupt your content.

The next iPad Pro will almost certainly sport an OLED display. It’s likely to be a hybrid OLED display made with a combination of flexible and rigid materials. This could mean the updated iPad Pros would be even thinner and lighter design than current models.
