Pokémon Go goes iOS 11-only starting on February 28

Those who love chasing Charizards, Snorlaxes and the rest of the Pokémon Go AR characters will need to upgrade to iOS 11 soon if they haven’t already, as Niantic has said that the app will only be able to run on the latest version of iOS beginning February 28.

The game was recently upgraded with support for ARKit on iPhone 6s or better, providing better battery life and allowing Pokémon to sit on real-world surfaces with more natural lighting. When the change to iOS 11-only occurs, gamers who are running on iPhone 5, 5c, iPad 2, 3 and 4, and the original iPad mini will be out of luck. They may not be able to use PokéCoins or other items in the Bag, nor may they even be able to access their accounts.
