Photolemur 2 arrives April 18: Check out our video review

Last October we were amazed by a Mac app called Photolemur. To quote the Photolemur development team, “The software is powered by a self-learning AI image processing technology and instantly enhances photos based on its previous “experience”. Photolemur does almost everything by itself, the users only need to load the photos and save the best images afterwards.” Now, the app has been optimized and runs much faster than before, the image enhancements are (in my opinion) better, and even the user interface has been streamlined. Let’s take a look at what’s new in Photolemur 2 ($2.99/month subscription during the first 30 days, Apple World Today receives compensation).

For myself, I find Photolemur 2 to be perfect for the majority of my photo enhancement work. The drag and drop interface is simple, and if I like the results of Photolemur’s work I simply export the image. There are some photos that it doesn’t work well on; for example, I had a photo that had a bluish cast to it from blue-tinted windows and I expected Photolemur 2 to correct the white balance and skin tones. It didn’t. Then again, most of the other Mac photo enhancement apps on the market also had issues with the same photo.

Photolemur 2 is the developer’s first foray into the Windows world, and the Windows version becomes available on the same day as the Mac software. The app works as an Adobe Lightroom CC plugin, but at this time it is not available as a Photos plugin.

Conclusion

Want to turn your photos from “meh” to “magnificent”? Then check out Photolemur 2. It does an remarkable job of making your original images (JPEG/RAW) look even better without requiring a lot of work.
