O’Shea Jackson to star in ‘Swagger’ for Apple TV+

O’Shea Jackson is now set to star in the Apple drama series “Swagger,” for the Apple TV+ streaming service, Variety reports.

Jackson takes over the role from Winston Duke. It was announced that Duke would star in the series back in October, but Variety says “an individual with knowledge of the situation says he suffered an injury on set, which forced him to drop out of the show.

Inspired by NBA superstar Kevin Durant’s youth basketball experiences, “Swagger” will explore the world of AAU basketball in the nation’s capital, and the players, their families and coaches who walk the fine line between dreams and ambition, and opportunism and corruption. The show will come from Imagine Television, Durant’s Thirty Five Ventures, and CBS Television Studios

Jackson, also known by his stage name OMG, is an American actor and rapper. He is the oldest son of rapper Ice Cube, and portrayed him in the 2015 biopic “Straight Outta Compton,” which was his feature film debut.
