Notable apps and updates, Oct. 28-Nov. 2

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are this week’s picks.

macOS

Lemke Software has announced CADintosh 8.5, an update to its 2D CAD program for macOS. 

Designed for use by technical draftsmen and designers, the app offers users a variety of tools to create technical, mechanical, and architectural drawings. Version 8.5 brings new features and updates, including a new DWG export feature, localizations, additional drawing data fields, a WYSIWYG font menu, and more.

CADintosh 8.5 requires macOS 10.8 or later and costs $33.99. It’s available at the Mac App Store in the Graphics & Design category. It can also be directly purchased online from the Lemkesoft website for $32. Version 8.5 is a free update for all CADintosh 8.x users. The upgrade from 1.x-7.x to 8.x is $19.95 (USD) on the Lemke website.

Selznick Scientific Software has released PasswordWallet 4.8.10 for macOS. It’s an update of their password management solution. 

The app allow users to manage and store password and private information on their Mac, and automatically sync the information between their Mac and all of their devices via Dropbox. Version 4.8.10 brings improved operation with macOS Dark Mode, as well as bug fixes and performance improvements.

PasswordWallet 4.8.10 requires macOS 10.14 or later and costs $19.99. Owners of version 4.x can upgrade free. PasswordWallet 4.8.18 for iPhone is $4.99, and is available exclusively through the App Store in the Utilities category.

64BitApps has released PDF Plus 1.3, an update to the macOS app that allows users to merge, split, crop and watermark their PDF documents in batch mode. 

The tool can also edit the properties of PDF files in batch mode. The user can define the pages or page intervals that will be processed and the location where the output PDF documents will be saved. Version 1.3 features a new user interface, and users can now cover the entire page with watermarks.

PDF Plus 1.3 requires macOS 10.10 or later and costs $4.99. It can be purchased from the Mac App Store and from 64BitApps online
