Notable apps and updates, July 13-18

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are this week’s picks.

The Pixelmator Team has released Pixelmator Pro 1.7, codenamed Sequoia, an update to its Mac image editor.

The update adds the ability to type text on paths and shapes, makes it possible to freely rotate the canvas to any angle, includes a friendly new welcome screen, and improves ML Super Resolution. It also has various improvements and fixes.

Pixelmator Pro 1.7 Sequoia is available today from the Mac App Store. It’s free for existing users and US$39.99 for new customers. An upgrade discount is also available to owners of the original Pixelmator through the Pixelmator Pro Upgrade Bundle, also available from the Mac App Store. Pixelmator Pro requires macOS High Sierra or later and a Metal-compatible graphics card.

Cisdem has updated its ContactsMate app for macOS to version 5.2.0.

The app allows users to view, add, delete, edit, group, tag, share and export contacts. The contacts can be imported from CSV or vCARD file, or from Google, iCLoud, Exchange and other social media accounts. Version 5.2.0 optimizes the Merge performance and more features to enhance user experience on contacts management, according to the folks at Cisdem.

Cisdem ContactsMate requires macOS 10.11 or later and costs US$39.99 for a lifetime license. A demo is available for download.

CS Odessa has announced a new enhancement to ConceptDraw OFFICE products that provides a set of tools including vector graphics library, sample drawings and mind maps delivering a complete tool-kit for Agile Kanban methodology digital visualization.

A Kanban board is a visual tool for agile project management practices. It’s design to help project teams visualize tasks and workflows, as well as identify potential bottlenecks at each stage of the project lifecycle. Kanban board visually represents a project workflow to help teams assign and complete workloads.

This new solution provides support for drawing Kanban boards in ConceptDraw DIAGRAM and for making Kanban board mind maps in ConceptDraw MINDMAP with the ability to automatically generate Kanban board charts in DIAGRAM.

The Kanban Board solution is available at $25 for current users of ConceptDraw DIAGRAM 13 and MINDMAP 11, which arecompatible with macOS and Windows. Both apps can be purchased either individually or along with PROJECT 10 as part of ConceptDraw OFFICE 6.

Zwinzler Games has rolled Make Ends Meet 1.2, a mobile puzzle game. It’s set in the Roaring Twenties, complete with smooth jazz and sleazy businessmen.

Each level involves a drawing mechanic, where you draw around the screen to collect enough colors to continue. Not only does the title of the game represent the message, it also represents the mechanic, so plays have to make sure ends of their drawings meet.

Make Ends Meet is free, but does offer in-app purchases.
