Notable apps and updates, Feb. 24

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

macOS

Class Technologies Inc., has announced the general availability and roll out of Class, software that adds teaching and learning tools to Zoom. Class is now available for Mac, with releases for Windows, Chromebook, iPad, and Android Tablet platforms expected in the coming weeks.

Class is built on the Zoom Meetings platform and offers educators everything they need to facilitate instruction and improve student engagement in the virtual classroom, according to Michael Chasen, co-founder and CEO of Class. The software adds teaching and learning tools to Zoom and enables educators to perform many of the activities that happen in a real classroom, virtually.

Class will be available domestically and internationally, and will begin to roll out next semester to many of the 7,500 institutions who have expressed interest in adopting Class software. Class is sold on an annual subscription basis for K-12, higher education, and corporate learning enterprise licenses. For more information or to request a demo visit class.com.

iOS/iPadOS

Toshiba America Business Solutions has introduced its eConnect TouchFree mobile app providing remote control access to the company’s e‑STUDIO multifunction printers (MFPs).

The app is especially designed for schools and departmental corporate settings. It’s available at the Apple App Store.
