Notable apps and updates, August 27-Sept. 1

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are this week’s picks.

macOS Apps/Updates

Ben Software has launched SwiftCapture 1.1, an update to the high-performance video capture application for macOS. 

The tool allows users to create video recordings, timelapse captures and stop-motion movies from a variety of video input devices. Along with improved performance and reliability of video capture, version 1.1 is now a 64-bit application, sports new transformation options, adds an audio delay and more.

SwiftCapture 1.1 costs $42 for a single-user license and $570 for a site license. A 30-day demo is available for download.

Ben Software has released SecuritySpy 4.2.7, an update to the multi-camera video surveillance software for the Mac. 

With motion-activated events, and remote monitoring and configuration, it’s designed for video surveillance applications. Version 4.2.7 adds improved playback of captured footage, improved camera compatibility, and bug fixes.

SecuritySpy requires macOS 10.7 and higher. Pricing ranges from $42 for a single camera license to $649 for an unlimited camera license. A demo is available for download.

Zevrix Solutions has announced LinkOptimizer 5.2.9, a feature update to the company’s workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. 

LinkOptimizer works with Photoshop to lets users automatically scale and crop images to their InDesign size at specified target resolution, convert image formats, adjust colors, embed profiles and more. Version lets users add link serial number, whether per page or document, to the optimized image names with the option to specify the number of leading zeros.

LinkOptimizer can be purchased from the Zevrix website (www.zevrix.com) for $259.95; there’s a “lite” version available for $179.95. A demo is available for download. The update is free for LinkOptimizer 5.x users and $130 to upgrade from previous versions. LinkOptimizer requires macOS 10.7-10.13 and Adobe InDesign / Photoshop CS5-CC 2018.

iOS Apps/Updates

PS it’s our B.V. has tossed out Coin Flip AR. It’s a free coin toss app featuring augmented reality. Not only does it allow users to flip virtual coins on any surface around them in mixed reality, but coin tosses can be recorded and shared with friends.

Outline Development has rolled out Noch mal. In the $3.99 digital dice game, each player tries to make as many crosses and points as possible. The task is to start from the middle of the sheet, reach stars, fill columns and colors.
