Notable apps and updates, April 6-1

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are this week’s picks.

The Pixelmator Team has released Pixelmator Photo 1.2, an update to the photo editor for the iPad.

The upgrade introduces support for editing photos using a Magic Keyboard, trackpad, or mouse, lets you work in Pixelmator Photo and any other app side by side using Split View, adds a way to match the look and style of different photos using machine learning, and more. Pixelmator Photo 1.2 also adds the Core ML-powered ML Match Colors feature, which lets you instantly match the style of one photo to another.

Pixelmator Photo 1.2 is available today exclusively from the App Store as a free update for existing users or for US$4.99 for new customers. It requires iOS/iPadOS 11 or later and a compatible iPad.

inookta studio has launched Soundscapes, an app reconnect with nature by exploring a collection of hundreds of immersive and high-quality soundscapes produced by artists from around the world.

According to the folks at inookta, users are “instantly transported in the middle of the toucans in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest, at the foot of a glacier calving in Antarctica, or on the edge of an active volcano in Ethiopia.” Soundscapes is a free download, but after 30 days, you’ll need to subscribe for $4.49/month or $35.99/year.

Total War: THREE KINGDOMS – A World Betrayed DLC is now available for the Mac. It’s available now from the Feral Store for US$9.99

The chapter pack “pack portrays a seminal moment in the history of the Three Kingdoms. Many of the pioneering warlords have now fallen, leaving a new generation of warriors vying to forge their own dynasties.”
