Notable apps and updates: April 16

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

macOS

Apple has updated its Transporter app for developers with native support for Apple silicon Macs. Version 1.2.1 also brings stability improvements and bug fixes. Transporter is available as a free download on the Mac App Store.

The app allows developers to deliver content — apps, music, movies, TV shows, books, etc. — for distribution on the App Store, Apple Music, Apple TV app, Apple Books, or the iTunes Store. It requires macOS 10.13.6 or later.

Microsoft has released an update to its Remote Desktop app to natively support Apple Silicon on M1 Macs.

The app lets Mac users connect and use PCs, or virtual Windows apps. It’s free at the Mac App Store and requires macOS 10.14 or later.

Docker has announced the general availability of Docker Desktop for Mac [Apple Silicon]. Developers can now use Docker Desktop to build, ship, and run distributed apps right from their Apple Silicon M1 Mac systems.
