Notable apps and app updates for Oct. 10, 2016

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

The Lim brothers have introduced Deck of Cards 1.0. It’s a free multiplayer card game in which you play your favorite card games with your friends anywhere with up to eight players. Users can play with one another by having one person create a room as the host, and the others joining that room.

Unit Radius has launched Weather VR. The US$0.99 weather app features an altimeter, 3D compass, 3D wind vane and 3D sun tracker, as well as a catalog of 3D weather effects. GPS can be used to get the current weather at the user’s location, with both same day and three day forecast options available.

macOS Apps/Updates

MacXDVD has announced MacX DVD Ripper Pro 4.9.5, an upgrade to its flagship DVD ripper. The update features a new user interface and increased support for macOS Sierra, the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7.

The upgrade is available to all current MacX DVD Ripper Pro users at no charge. New users can get all the features and updates at $59.95. The complete full-featured DVD video conversion package with top-level support is offered at $39.95 for a limited time; that’s up to 70% off.
